2000-P Cheerios Dollar, MS67
2000-P $1 Cheerios MS67 NGC. FS-401. The new "golden"
Sacagawea dollar was launched by the U.S. Mint in early 2000 with
high hopes for success. Among the marketing promotions was the
placement of examples in occasional Cheerios cereal boxes. Most
such pieces were spent by recipients. In June 2005, collector Pat
Braddick reported his "Cheerios" dollar was from a different
reverse hub than the regular issue, with greater feather definition
on the tail feathers. The variety remains a prized Guide
Book rarity. Accompanying the lot is the 2000 cent also from
the Cheerios box, though no other packaging is included. Census: 19
in 67, 7 finer (7/13).
