Description
Premium Gem 1907 Saint-Gaudens Twenty
Arabic Numerals
1907 $20 Arabic Numerals MS66 ★ NGC. When the Roman
Numerals, High Relief design proved unsuitable for mass production,
Charles Barber modified the double eagle design to a much lower
relief, making large mintage totals possible. Near the end of the
year, 361,667 of these Arabic Numerals double eagles were minted.
The date is popular as a first-date-of-issue coin and only 19
examples have been certified finer than MS66 by both NGC and PCGS
combined (10/09). This example is remarkable, with satin luster and
exceptional yellow and orange coloration.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26F5, PCGS# 9141, GSID# 10132)
