Description

1907 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle, MS66
Tough Above the Gem Level

1907 $20 MS66 PCGS. Blinding satin luster generously coats rich yellow-gold surfaces. The drapery and wing feathers are sharply defined, with only a touch of weakness present on the breast feathers and the face. Most Mint State examples of this type originated from repatriated hoards, limiting most examples to the low end of the grade distribution. This is exacerbated by the strong demand caused by this denomination's first year of issue status.(Registry values: N2998)
