Description

1907 Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle, MS66
Multi-Colored Example of a Popular Issue

1907 $20 MS66 PCGS. Yellow-gold surfaces are interspersed with white-gold and rose-gold regions, with these latter hues concentrated towards the right half of the obverse and more variably blended in with the yellow-gold on the reverse. Some weakness exists on the high points of the obverse and on the underside of the eagle on the reverse. The population figures for this issue in Gem are small considering the demand, as most Mint State examples came from overseas repatriations and thus fall to the lower end of the scale.(Registry values: N2998)
