Saint-Gaudens double eagle is an available date, even in high Mint
State grades. However, of the 4,335 coins NGC has certified at the
Premium Gem level, only 93 have been awarded the star designation
(8/10). The present coin is a magnificent specimen, with pristine
greenish-gold surfaces, sharply detailed devices, and vibrant mint
