Description
1908 Saint-Gaudens Twenty, MS67
Tawny-Gold Luster
1908 $20 No Motto, Wells Fargo Nevada, MS67 NGC. Ex: Wells
Fargo Nevada Gold. The discovery of the Wells Fargo Hoard shifted
the perception of the 1908 double eagle irretrievably forever, with
previous speculations before the 1997 purchase seeming naive in
retrospect. The well-struck example displays tawny-gold luster that
accompanies some deeper notes. The coin is largely free from any
offensive abrasions with a minor pedigree marker just below the
olive branch.(Registry values: P1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26F6, Variety PCGS# 99142, Base PCGS# 9142)
