Description
1908-D Motto Double Eagle, MS66
1908-D $20 Motto MS66 PCGS. Denver's production of double eagles in 1908 totaled just over a million pieces, and of those coins, slightly over one-third were struck after the change to the Motto on Reverse variety. The 1908-D Motto twenty is available through most grades, even in Gem, but MS66 coins are another story. This eye-catching Premium Gem has strong orange overtones to the yellow-gold surfaces. Pleasingly detailed and carefully preserved with just a few tiny luster scrapes and two small reed marks below the TW in TWENTY on the reverse. Population: 25 in 66, 3 finer (2/10).From The JTR Collection.(Registry values: N4719)
