Description

    1909 Double Eagle, MS64
    Rich Mint Bloom

1909 $20 MS64 PCGS. Rich mint bloom appears on both sides of this frosty near-Gem 1909 double eagle, certified by PCGS. Areas of golden-yellow alternate with bits of deeper wheat-gold. A peppering of small marks prevents the Gem grade, but the eye appeal is great for the grade. PCGS has seen only 26 numerically finer, making this piece a tempting value proposition for an underrated date.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 26FC, PCGS# 9150)

    Weight: 33.44 grams

The Coinage of Augustus Saint-Gaudens as Illustrated by the Morse and Duckor Collections
Revised Edition by James L. Halperin, Mark R. Borckardt, Mark Van Winkle, Jon Amato, and Gregory J. Rohan, with special contributor David W. Akers

The Coinage of Augustus Saint-Gaudens is an issue-by-issue examination of these two artistically inspired series of gold coins. Each date and mintmark is reviewed with up-to-date information, much of which has never been previously published. The book is based on two extraordinary collections: The Phillip H. Morse collection and the Dr. and Mrs. Steven L. Duckor collection.
