Lovely MS64 1909-D Double Eagle

1909-D $20 MS64 PCGS. The 1909-D is one of several low-production branch mint Saint-Gaudens double eagles from the early years of the series. This near-Gem has striking yellow-gold color with splashes of orange. Each side is boldly defined with immense luster and few marks overall, though an abrasion is noted on and to the left of Liberty's billowing gown. PCGS has certified a mere 20 finer pieces (3/09).(Registry values: N4719)
