1909-D $20 MS64 PCGS. This issue is somewhat overshadowed by the 1908-S, but it bears remembering that the 1909-D's mintage is itself a stingy 52,500 coins, making it the third-lowest of the With Motto issues, behind the '08-S and '13-S. This near-Gem example boasts warm, glowing luster over orange-gold surfaces that are just a few wispy contact marks away from a Gem grade. An appealing and high-end example. PCGS has certified only 20 pieces finer (9/09).(Registry values: N4719)
