1909-S Double eagle, MS65 NGC
1909-S $20 MS65 NGC. The beautiful orange-gold surfaces of this example are devoid of all but the most trivial distraction. The strike is needle sharp and the mint luster rolls gently around both sides. Although obtainable for a price in lower grades, this S-mint Double Eagle is infrequently offered above the MS64 level.
