Description
Elusive 1910-D Gem Twenty Dollar
1910-D $20 MS65 PCGS. CAC. Most of the 429,000 1910-D double eagles did not circulate, and were subsequently used for international banking transfers. Many mint-sewn bags remained in European vaults until after World War II, resulting in a plethora of Mint State coins through MS64. Gems are elusive, and higher-grade pieces are rare. Radiant luster endows this sharply struck MS65 specimen. Apricot-gold surfaces show hints of light green, and are devoid of all but a few trivial marks.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26FG, PCGS# 9155, GSID# 10165)
