Description

1911-D $20 MS66 PCGS. FS-501, formerly FS-1911.5. Breen-7383. The mintmark is broadly repunched. This example has bright, intense luster, along with rich honey-gold coloration augmented by hints of lilac and very few surface marks. Perhaps the most popular repunched mintmark variety in the series, and certainly a dramatic variety. While PCGS has graded 426 examples in 66 and only nine finer (11/07).
