Description
Amazing MS67 1911-D Double Eagle
1911-D $20 MS67 NGC. The 38 MS67 examples of the 1911-D double eagle in the combined certified population--31 graded by NGC, seven by PCGS--form the numeric pinnacle for the issue (5/10). This Superb Gem is thus of great importance to NGC Registry collectors, not to mention any one who simply appreciates a great Saint-Gaudens twenty. A faint skiff of patina has settled over parts of the rich yellow-gold fields, touched in orange on each side. The strike is solid, and only a handful of small marks, trivial by themselves, combine to preclude an even finer designation. Wonderful visual appeal.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26FK, PCGS# 9158, GSID# 10167)
