Bold Gem 1911-D/D Double Eagle

1911-D/D $20 MS65 NGC. FS-501. The 1911-D/D double eagle is not yet listed in the Guide Book, but such a listing is sure to further increase its popularity. At least half of all high grade 1911-D twenties are the repunched mintmark variety. This lovely Gem boasts the usual bold strike over compelling orange-gold surfaces. A few scattered ticks preclude an even finer grade. Census: 62 in 65, 28 finer (6/10).
