Exceptional Gem 1911-D/D Double Eagle
1911-D/D $20 MS65 PCGS. FS-501, formerly FS-1911.5. The mintmark is clearly repunched east, as seen on numerous Mint State examples of the 1911-D. What is unusual about the present coin is its minimally abraded surfaces, and an exceptional strike that displays full detail on the Capitol building, torch, fingers, and face. Population: 32 in 65, 6 finer (4/09).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26FK, Variety PCGS# 145010, Base PCGS# 9158, GSID# 393347)
