Description

Lustrous Near-Gem 1912 Saint-Gaudens

1912 $20 MS64 PCGS. Technically, the 1912 double eagle is a new type created by the addition of two stars placed below the date near the oak leaves. This was done to represent the addition of New Mexico and Arizona to the Union. Apricot-gold luster radiates from both sides of this near-Gem, and a well executed strike defines the design elements. Scattered light marks limit the grade.(Registry values: N2998)
