Description
Alluring Gem 1913-D Double Eagle
1913-D $20 MS65 PCGS. This powerfully struck representative has rich orange-gold color with coruscating luster. Subtle olive toning is visible along the borders. In A Handbook of 20th Century United States Gold Coins, David Akers wrote: "Overall, the 1913-D is less rare than either the 1910-D or the 1914-D, but the difference is rather minimal. However, in Gem condition, I find the 1913-D to be considerably more rare than either of those issues, perhaps two to three times as rare."(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26FP, PCGS# 9162, GSID# 10169)
