Description

Formidable Gem 1913-S Twenty, Ex: Brahin

1913-S $20 MS65 PCGS. CAC. Ex: Jay Brahin. Booming luster, radiant yellow-gold surfaces, and a paucity of tiny marks confirm the exemplary quality of this desirable Gem. The mintage, a mere 34,000 pieces, ensures that the 1913-S will command collector attention. Among Motto issues, only the 1909-S has a lower production. The patient set assembler can locate a Mint State 1913-S, but Gems are rare and are eagerly contested by Registry competitors. The present piece, from an important collection and CAC-approved, is particularly desirable. Only one finer example is known, a PCGS MS66 from the Phillip H. Morse Collection that brought $149,500 in our November 2005 Signature. Population: 19 in 65, 1 finer (8/08).(Registry values: N7079)
