Description
1913-S Double Eagle, MS65
Only One Coin Numerically Finer
1913-S $20 MS65 PCGS. While not the rarest Saint-Gaudens
double eagle issue despite its low 34,000-piece mintage, the 1913-S
remains a formidable challenge at the MS65 grade and it is nearly
uncollectible any finer. This vibrantly lustrous, S-mint Gem
displays a strong strike overall, with only slight softness visible
at the lowest-left obverse stars. Frosted orange-gold luster
flashes lemon-yellow highlights throughout the minimally marked
surfaces for extra-sharp eye appeal. PCGS reports only 23 coins at
the MS65 level including a single 65+, with just a single coin
certified finer at PCGS and NGC combined (8/25).(Registry values: N7079)From The Alymaya Collection, Part II.
