Description

1915 Twenty Dollar, MS65
Lustrous and Sharp, CAC
Few Are Finer

1915 $20 MS65 PCGS. CAC. Wartime circumstances limited double eagle production to 1915's final quarter when 152,000 pieces were struck. Only 10% of the small production entered domestic circulation although many surviving 1915 twenties show light to moderate circulation. Most of the remaining mintage was shipped to Europe, with about 15% of the mintage going to South America. Repatriated foreign holdings make up only about 55% of the estimated 1915 Philadelphia twenties known today. This is a Gem Uncirculated example that displays lustrous, original orange-gold color and a sharp strike that even reaches the stars surrounding the Capitol building. CAC endorsement confirms the high quality surfaces and natural eye appeal. PCGS Population: 63 in 65 (7 in 65+), 3 finer. CAC: 15 in 65, 0 finer (11/25).(Registry values: N4719)
