Description
1915-S Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle, MS66
Registry-Grade Example
1915-S $20 MS66 NGC. The San Francisco Mint struck an
adequate production of 567,500 Saint-Gaudens double eagles in 1915,
making the issue relatively available at the MS65 grade level, but
the 1915-S becomes scarce in MS66, and the population drops off
precipitously in finer grades. PCGS has graded no coins in finer
numerical grades, while NGC has certified three examples in MS67
(12/25). This spectacular Premium Gem displays virtually flawless
orange and yellow-gold surfaces, with vibrant mint luster and
excellent aesthetic appeal. The design elements are sharply
detailed throughout and eye appeal is outstanding.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26FW, PCGS# 9168, Greysheet# 10173)
