Description
1915-S Saint-Gaudens Double Eagle, MS66+
Extremely Rare in Finer Grades
1915-S $20 MS66+ NGC. This is a remarkably well-preserved
example, showing satiny rose-gold luster with clean fields and no
major marks on the devices -- a contact point on Liberty's forehead
is the only mentionable fault. Eye appeal excels. From a mintage of
567,500 pieces, the 1915-S Saint-Gaudens double eagle is
occasionally seen in MS66, and a handful of Plus-graded examples
are listed in the population data, but none are numerically finer
at PCGS and only three are listed higher at NGC (12/25).Ex: Dallas Signature (Heritage, 4/2017), lot 16093: U.S. Coins Signature (Heritage, 11/2024), lot 3967.(Registry values: N2998)
