Description

1916-S Saint-Gaudens Twenty, MS66
Almost Unobtainable Finer

1916-S $20 MS66 NGC. The 1916-S Saint-Gaudens double eagle is a conditionally challenging issue, infrequently seen in MS66 condition and virtually never finer. PCGS has graded no MS67 or better examples, and NGC only four (3/25). This lovely example shows the usual slightly granular finish and smooth, satiny mint luster. This clean coin displays only a single mark visible to the unaided eye, a well-concealed diagonal cut across Liberty's thigh.
