Description
1916-S Saint-Gaudens Twenty, MS66
Well-Preserved, Lustrous Surfaces
1916-S $20 MS66 NGC. The 1916-S Saint-Gaudens double eagle
has been overlooked and undervalued by collectors over the years,
because of its presence in several hoards that surfaced in the
1970s and 1980s. In high grade, the 1916-S is still a scarce date,
and the MS66 category seems to provide just the right combination
of high-grade scarcity and reasonable price. This impressive
Premium Gem displays sharply detailed devices, vibrant mint luster,
and light yellow-gold surfaces, with outstanding eye appeal. NGC
has graded only four numerically finer examples (12/25).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26FX, PCGS# 9169, Greysheet# 10174)
