Bold 1922-S Double Eagle, MS64

1922-S $20 MS64 NGC. Another double eagle issue that is available for a price, but at one time considered a great rarity, the 1922-S is nonetheless elusive at the near-Gem level. This specimen displays bold luster over softly frosted, satiny orange-gold surfaces. There are few relevant marks, although the strike is a bit blunt on Liberty's head and right (facing) foot. NGC has certified only 15 pieces finer (2/10).
