Description
Attractive 1923 Gem Double Eagle
1923 $20 MS65 NGC. Dazzling luster emboldens this attractive Gem double eagle. Each side is bathed in bright apricot-gold patination. The design elements are sharply impressed, though the Capitol building is a tad soft in places. Generally well preserved, though some light handling marks in the upper right (facing) obverse field are mentioned for accuracy. The Philadelphia Mint run between 1922 and 1928 is considered common, but the 1923 in Gem is underestimated by the non-specialist.
