Description
1924 Double Eagle, MS67
Sharp Type Coin
1924 $20 MS67 PCGS. A bold strike spans the majority of the
relief elements on this Superb Gem, while vibrant, softly frosted
luster fails to reveal mentionable abrasions. The 1924 double eagle
typically comes with a greenish-gold appearance, and this piece is
unusual with its peach-gold margins and rose-gold interior.
Comparable examples have proven to be quite elusive at auction,
especially in a PCGS holder. PCGS reports only a single coin
numerically finer, while NGC lists just three such pieces (7/24).
Thus, the quality conscious collector will not soon do better than
the current piece.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26G7, PCGS# 9177, Greysheet# 10147)
