Description

Gorgeous 1924-S Double Eagle, MS64

1924-S $20 MS64 PCGS. The 1924-S is one of several issues in the Saint-Gaudens series that is classified as "less rare than previously" due to overseas repatriations, but even today the issue is still very rare at the Gem level, and even near-Gems such as the present piece are at the upper end of the certified population. This gorgeous coin has incredible, original reddish-gold color interspersed with pronounced hints of lilac on each side. The strike is sharp, and the surfaces are only minimally abraded throughout. Notice that PCGS has certified only three examples finer, as evidence of the high grade rarity (8/10).(Registry values: N4719)
