Description
Condition Census 1925 Double Eagle, MS67 PCGS
1925 $20 MS67 PCGS. A fantastic example of this otherwise common date, and as such a perfect example of a condition rarity. The 1925 double eagle is available in most grades, including Gem, where we note 2,633 pieces have been graded by PCGS. However, things get sticky above that. In MS66 the numbers drop quickly to 709 pieces, and for the present example graded, MS67, a total of five coins have been graded (9/05). None have been graded higher by either NGC or PCGS. Note the explosive luster in the fields, the bold strike, and the exceptional eye appeal. Now for the true test of all coins, put a strong glass to it and search out the nicks, scratches and abrasions. There simply aren't many on this coin, and this quality is as close to perfection as one can hope to find. Any true collector can appreciate a Superb Gem coin, and this one is particularly attractive and scarce in this lofty grade. From The Phillip H.
