1925-D $20 XF45 PCGS. Nearly 3 million 1925-D double eagles were struck, but only a fraction of the production escaped Treasury vaults prior to the FDR gold recall. The 1925-D is very scarce in Mint State, but it is extremely rare below the AU55 grade. PCGS has certified only two such pieces, the present lot and an AU50.(Registry values: N1793)
