Description

1926-S $20 AU55 PCGS Secure. A lightly circulated example of a challenging mass-melted issue. The lustrous peach-gold surfaces lack bagmarks and possess the eye appeal of a much higher grade. The dies are slightly rotated. The obverse is lightly die doubled, most apparent on the ray beneath the 6 in the date, similar to the FS-101 1926. It is possible that the obverse dies for both varieties were made from the same working hub, where the doubling likely originated.(Registry values: N1793)
