Description

Challenging MS63 1926-S Twenty

1926-S $20 MS63 PCGS. The reported mintage of more than 2 million pieces implies the 1926-S is plentiful. What the mintage figures do not indicate is how many were melted by the Treasury over the subsequent two decades. It appears that only a thousand or so examples escaped the smelter. The present coin is a typical survivor, lustrous and nicely struck with scattered obverse field grazes.(Registry values: N2998)
