1926-S Twenty Dollar, Sharply Struck MS64+
1926-S $20 MS64+ PCGS. CAC. The 1926-S twenty dollar is
relatively available through the near-Gem level of preservation,
though Gem and finer examples are highly elusive. The present MS64+
offering is therefore an excellent choice for the collector
desiring a high-quality piece without paying MS65 or better money.
While the PCGS population figures list 339 MS64 coins, only 36
pieces rate MS64+. Additionally, the present high-end near-Gem has
been given the CAC label.
An Excellent High-Grade Choice
Lustrous, medium yellow-gold surfaces display well-struck design elements, including Liberty's facial features, fingers and toes, the panes of the Capitol building, and the eagle's plumage. A few scattered, minute marks are in concert with the designated grade, and some light die cracks, as usually seen, are noted on the obverse.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 26GF, PCGS# 9185)
