    1923-D Saint-Gaudens Twenty, MS67
    Among the Finest at PCGS

1923-D $20 MS67 PCGS. The 1923-D Saint-Gaudens double eagle has long been a favorite type coin issue due to its general availability and often outstanding eye appeal. The latter attribute sets it apart from many other common dates. Nonetheless, the 1923-D is conditionally scarce in MS67 and unknown finer at PCGS. These finest-known coins have surfaced gradually over the past couple of decades, with few new examples turning up in recent years. This piece, housed in a green label holder, is from an old generation of top-grade 1923-D double eagles. Shimmering, softly frosted luster and bold design elements are the hallmarks of the eye appeal, and Liberty's knee and bust catch the only discernible contact marks. Rose-gold, peach, and mint-green hues intermingle over each side, with the warmer hues penetrating the interiors. Population: 77 in 67, 0 finer (3/18).(Registry values: N4719)
