Satiny 1837 Large Date Dime, MS65
1837 10C No Stars, Large Date MS65 PCGS Secure. CAC. All business strikes of the Large Date variety have the lower left curve of the 7 repunched, unlike the proofs. The reverse is also rotated to the right on the business strikes. This example is an early die state with no evidence of the heavy obverse die cracks that develop later. The surfaces are fully lustrous with satiny brilliance and lovely iridescent toning. Population: 25 in 65, 7 finer (8/10).From The Bob Simpson Collection of Seated Dimes.(Registry values: N4719)
