Description

1838 10C Large Stars MS64 PCGS. CAC. Fortin-110, R.4. Incorrectly designated by PCGS as the Small Stars variety, but the D in DIME shows no die doubling, and there is no die crack through the left-side stars. The prominent die crack beneath Liberty's foot and the bold die clash above the E in DIME identify the Fortin variety. Lustrous and well struck with attractive peripheral golden-brown, plum-red, and cobalt-blue patina.(Registry values: N1793)
