Description
Stunningly Toned, Precisely Struck
1839 No Drapery Dime, MS67
1839 10C No Drapery MS67 NGC. It is difficult to imagine a
more attractive example of the 1839 No Drapery dime than the
present toned Superb Gem, one of 12 such at NGC with eight finer
(4/12). Deep gold-ochre patina prevails on each side, deepening to
amber in some areas and complementing glints of blue and lilac near
the rims. The surfaces show a pebbled appearance, probably from
dies long in use, but the strike is impeccable even if some
softness appears at the denticles, likely the byproduct of die
erosion as well.(Registry values: N1)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 237X, PCGS# 4571, Greysheet# 4029)
