Description
1839-O 10C No Drapery, Large O, F-106a, R.4, MS64 NGC. A Top 100 Fortin Variety. F-106a is the popular "Cobweb Reverse" variety, showing an extensive array of bold die cracks around the reverse margins. This Choice example is high-end for the die pairing. The reverse cracks are not quite as advanced as those of the Fortin plate coin, although the "cobweb" pattern is plain. The design elements are boldly defined. Satiny luster illuminates mottled olive-gold and russet toning over each side.
