Description

1839-O 10C No Drapery MS63 PCGS. Fortin-106a, the "Shattered Cobweb" reverse. The reverse border is dominated by heavy, lengthy die cracks. Lovely peach and aquamarine colors invigorate this well struck and unmarked piece. Gerry Fortin writes, "Variety 106a is highly sought after in higher grades by variety collectors due to its spectacular appearance." The present piece is surely one of the finest known examples. Population: 2 in 63, 6 finer (3/05).
