1844 10C VF25 ANACS. Walter Breen (1988) writes, "the late Frank C. Ross, hack writer for the Kansas City area, hoarded 1844 dimes and for years publicized how rare this date was, going so far as to award it the sobriquet 'Little Orphan Annie.'" The present coin exhibits a mix of sea-green, violet, and gold on the obverse, while the reverse has yellow toned devices and gunmetal-gray fields. A crispy defined specimen.(Registry values: N991)
