Description

1845 10C MS65 NGC. Fortin-103. Triple-punched 5, repunched 4, die crack rim to R in AMERICA. Die chips are visible around stars 3 through 6. The Fortin-103 variety is one of the Gerry Fortin Top 100 die pairings. Mottled sky-blue and pinkish toning on each side gives this Gem business strike even more character and eye appeal. A few tiny, scattered marks are consistent with the grade on this needle-sharp piece. We note that the Gerry Fortin coin depicted on www.SeatedDimeVarieties.com is an AU58 PCGS example. This piece is clearly finer. For the date, Census: 9 in 65, 7 finer (9/12).(Registry values: N2998)
