Elusive 1846 Seated Dime, AU53
Lowest-Mintage Stars Obverse Issue

1846 10C AU53 NGC. Despite all the promotion that the 1844 dime received, the 1846 is the lowest-mintage Stars Obverse issue at 31,300 pieces, and the average certified survivor is apt to grade only VF25-30 or so. (The half dime of the same year is also the lowest-mintage issue of the type.) This AU53 example is silver-white, with a good strike and only a few stray contact marks.
