Description
Choice 1851 Seated Liberty Dime
Underrated Date in High Grade
1851 10C MS64 PCGS. CAC. A substantial mintage of more than
1 million Seated Liberty dimes was achieved at the Philadelphia
Mint in 1851, but many examples were melted in 1853 because of the
weight change in silver coinage. The 1851 is an underrated issue in
Mint State grades today. The present coin is sharply detailed, with
lustrous surfaces and wisps of gold and lavender toning. Housed in
a green label holder. Population: 11 in 64, 7 finer
(3/11).(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 238L, PCGS# 4595, Greysheet# 4042)
Weight: 2.67 grams
Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
