Description

1852 Seated Dime, MS66
Melt and Condition Rarity

1852 10C F-102a, R.3, MS66 PCGS. The 1 in the date is weakly repunched at the base, and tiny die lines show in the exergue below. The reverse shows a bold die crack through MERICA. This is a light-gold example of this melt rarity, showing few post-strike marks but some peripheral strike weakness on the lower reverse. An attractive survivor of an issue that was largely melted. For the date, Population: 4 in 66, 5 finer (8/16).
