Description

1852-O Dime, MS62
Conditionally Elusive Issue

1852-O 10C F-101, R.4, MS62 PCGS. Mint records show a production of 430,000 dimes in New Orleans during the year, yet Gerry Fortin identifies just two die pairs, and both varieties utilize the same obverse die. Equally unexpected for the mintage quantity is the low Mint State population of less than 20 coins at PCGS. This attractive and lustrous example is lightly toned in gold with a few splashes of steel toning on the reverse. Population: 5 in 62, 14 finer (3/23).

Coin Index Numbers: (Variety PCGS# 537938, Base PCGS# 4598)

Weight: 2.67 grams

Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
