Description

1855 Arrows Dime, MS65
Underrated Condition Rarity

1855 10C Arrows, F-102, R.3, MS65 PCGS. The date is high and there is a diagnostic die scratch through the lower loop of B in LIBERTY. Both the obverse and reverse dies are perfect for the variety. This is a lustrous and brilliant Gem Uncirculated example, sharply struck and extremely frosty. More than two million 1855 Arrows dimes were struck and it would be no surprise if additional die varieties are discovered. Meanwhile, Gems are rare and unappreciated for this solitary Philadelphia ten cent issue. No branch mint dimes were struck in 1855. Population (all varieties combined): 5 in 65, 9 finer (12/25).
