1856 Blundered Large Date Dime, MS66

1856 10C Large Date MS66 PCGS Secure. Fortin-101. Blundered Date. The top of a misplaced 6 is seen in the drapery just right of the skirt pendent. This variety has been known since 1978, but it was only in 2003 that Gerry Fortin recognized the true nature of the misplaced digit.
In addition to its desirability as a Blundered Date variety, this example is also the single finest certified 1856 Large Date dime. Both sides are sharply detailed with frosty silver luster and splashes of subtle gold toning. Both dies show light clash marks. Population: 1 in 66, 0 finer (8/10).
