Description

1857 Seated Liberty Dime, MS66+
Remarkable Toning

1857 10C MS66+ PCGS. CAC. With only two pieces graded finer by PCGS and NGC combined, this Premium Gem 1857 dime with the PCGS "Plus" designation has to be considered among the finest known of the date. Original, variegated toning with colorful iridescence captures the eye. Much bright-silver luster is in evidence behind the toning, and a notably sharp strike commands attention. The fields and devices are virtually unmarked for this conditionally rare and desirable circulation strike. Population: 3 in 66 (2 in 66+), 1 finer (12/13).(Registry values: N1)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 238X, PCGS# 4614, Greysheet# 4050)

Weight: 2.49 grams

Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
