Description

1857 Dime, MS66
Attractive Multicolor Toning

1857 10C MS66 PCGS. Fortin-104, R.3. This variety exhibits noticeable small die chips around stars 3 through 6, with smaller chips around select others, as well. The 1857 is one of the more plentiful Seated dime issues of the period in Mint State condition, though Gems are distinctly scarce, and finer coins are rare. This Premium Gem example displays beautiful splashes of multicolor toning in shades of lavender, blue, sea-green, and rose-gold. The strike is sharp and the preservation is outstanding. Population: 4 in 66 (2 in 66+), 1 finer (8/14).(Registry values: N1)
